Background
Steve is originally from Willmar, Minnesota. He received his accounting
degree from Minnesota State University -Moorhead. Upon graduation Steve
worked in the audit and accounting division of a regional accounting firm in
Fargo, ND for more than six years.

Since joining the firm in 1982, Steve has been responsible for all certified
audits for the firm. In 1992, Steve was admitted as a partner of the
firm. Steve is also authorized to perform Peer Review's of other CPA
firm's audit and accounting practices for compliance with professional
standards.
Steve has been active in the Minnesota Society of CPA's committees for
more than twenty-five years. He has chaired and been a member of the Peer
Review and Financial Reporting Committees. Steve is currently a member of
the report acceptance body of the Peer Review Committee.
In addition to audit and accounting issues, Steve is in charge of
technology implementation for the firm and assists the firm's clients with
their hardware and accounting software implementation questions. In
addition, Steve is a Professional Advisor for Quick Books accounting software.
Steve has extensive experience working with closely-held and
family-owned businesses and their owners. This experience includes;
auditing, accounting, tax preparation and business and tax planning for clients
in construction, manufacturing and distribution industries, in addition to nonprofit
organizations.
A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
(AICPA), Minnesota and North Dakota Society of Public Accountants, Minnesota
Association of Public Accountants and the AICPA Information Technology
Membership Section. Steve has earned the designation of Accredited Retirement Advisor (ARA) from the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation, Inc.
Other Interests and Activities
Steve has
been very active in the local chamber of commerce organizations. He has
served as chairperson and director of the I-94 West and the Elk River Area
Chambers of Commerce. He has also served as treasurer for his church and the Maple Grove High School Football Booster Club.
